Democratic Party of Brygida Kuźniak - demokraci.pl - tries hard to get back to the premier league of polish politic. DP from Łódź presented new posters referring to Liberty Union's campaign in referendum in 2003. Then, posters presenting different types of persons being for joining European Union by Poland have appeared in polish cities. Slogans, that have been used were: 'Polle, Catholic, European' - referring to men - and "Polish teacher, Atheist, EU enthusiast' - referring to women.
In the beginning, new DP's posters will hang in buses and trams in Łódź. Initiator of the campaign is a leader of Łódź region - Jakub Dubla.
slogan translation: 1. Doctor. Atheist. Liberal., 2. Businessman. Gay. Liberal., 3. Pensioner. Feminist. Liberal., 4. Ecologist. Engineer. Liberal.
It's worth mentioning, that in polish language nouns referring to men and women differ in ending, e.g. a doctor: lekarz (man) - lekarka (woman). But also exist nouns performing only a 'male form', despite they refer to both men and women. This is because of historical conditions - some professions or states have formerly been typical for man only. Recently there has been a strong movement of feministic circles in Poland to create and use in colloquial language 'female forms' of such a nouns like e.g. professor (profesor, profesorka), to put emphasis on equality of rights of men and women, so that people's thinking of women's role in society may change.
At DP's posters referring to women (anyway, there is one gay and three women, isn't it so charmingly liberal??) such 'female forms' of nouns have been partially used - in case of noun 'liberal' (that do not usually perform a 'female form' in polish language). It's a pity, that in case of 'engineer' and 'ecologist' they've used 'male forms', but on the other hand, if authors had used 'female forms', whole message might have appeared as too feministic.
And a huuuuge plus for pensioner-feminist - breaking stereotype of elderly people being antiquated in their world outlook
Anyway, taking everything into consideration:
up-to-date, CATCHY - keep it up.
